Dried Figs Baked with Walnuts and Chocolate in Damson Liqueur

  • 20 soft, juicy dried figs, halved but not right through
  • 20 segments dark chocolate
  • 20 walnut pieces
  • 100ml Damson Plum Liqueur
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • zest of ½ orange
  • 200g mascarpone

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Place a piece of chocolate and a walnut inside each fig and pack them side-by-side into a shallow ovenproof dish. Mix the Damson Liqueur and honey and drizzle this over the figs. Sprinkle the orange zest over everything.

Cover and place in the oven for 20 minutes until very hot and bubbling. Remove from the oven. Allow to cool a little and then serve with the mascarpone.
