Vruca Rakija (Serbian Hot Toddy)

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups Damson Plum Liqueur
  • 3 cups water


In a medium stainless-steel saucepan, slowly heat the brown sugar, watching constantly. When the sugar is caramelized but not burned, remove from heat and CAREFULLY add the Damson Liqueur and water. Return to heat until it comes to a boil and sugar is completely melted.

Be careful that this does not boil over. It requires constant watching. Serve hot.

Traditionally made with Damson Brandy but we think it tastes just as good (if not better) with our Damson Liqueur.
