Strawberry Liqueur Cocktail


1 pint fresh raspberries
1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
½ cup water
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup white rum
¼ cup lime juice
1-2 cups ice cubes
1 (16-ounce) can lemon-lime soda
fresh mint for garnish
fresh raspberries for garnish


1. In a small saucepan over low to medium heat, combine the raspberries, strawberries, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar dissolves and berries soften.
2. Press the mixture through a wire mesh strainer. Let the juice cool. Discard the pulp and seeds.
3. In a pouring pitcher, combine the berry juices with rum and lime juice.
4. Divide the ice cubes evenly among 4 to 6 glass tumblers or cocktail glasses. Pour the mixture evenly over the ice in each glass. Top with lemon-lime soda, and garnish with fresh mint and raspberries.
